Regulations 2025 (Shizuoka Pref./Fujinomiya, Gotemba and Subashiri Trails)

Mountain climbing regulations will be enforced from the 2025 climbing season.

The following climbing regulations listed below will be in place on the three routes located on the Shizuoka side. As part of these regulations you will need to register an account and complete the following mountain entry procedures before climbing. The mountain entry procedures listed here apply only to ascents starting from the designated starting points set by Shizuoka Prefecture.

1. Learn rules and manners related to preserving and safely climbing Mt. Fuji in advance.
E-learning or onsite learning at each trailhead. You can readily start climbing by completing the e-learning before arriving at the trailhead.

2. Climbers entering the mountain between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.
The following day are required to stay overnight at a mountain hut.

3. Entry fee payment 4,000 yen per person/entry
The entry fee will be used to create an environment enabling safe and pleasant climbing, and for endeavors that protect the beautiful nature. Payment is an ordinance-based requirement.

You can enter the mountain by fulfilling the above three conditions. On the Shizuoka Prefecture side, there is no set limit placed on the number of climbers.

The entry procedure is to obtain an entry permit through the "Shizuoka Prefecture Fuji Climbing Pre-registration"

 Obtain an entry permit through the "Shizuoka Prefecture Fuji Climbing Pre-registration System." Using the system to obtain an entry permit lets you readily start climbing.  GPS function and push notifications on weather and other information will lead to a safe, pleasant climb on Mt. Fuji.
*Pre-registration begins From May 9, 2025
*If you are not registered in the system, you will be asked to learn the rules and etiquette on-site at the 5th station of each trailhead.
*If you plan to start climbing after 2pm, please make a reservation for mountain hut accommodation
We will check whether you have booked accommodation at a mountain hut during the on-site verification.
*Please note that registration to this system is not a reservation for lodging at a mountain hut.
 
①Access the website.
 
②Install Shizuoka Prefecture's offcial app, "Shizuoka Prefecture FUJI NAVI" on your smartphone.
※Get the app on the App Store or Google Play (free).
 
③Climbing information registration
Fill out climbing information, etc.(date of climb, your full name, whether or not staying overnight at a mountain hut, etc.)
*Please note that registration to this system is not a reservation for lodging at a mountain hut.

④Entry fee payment
Choose a payment method (credit card, e-money, etc.) and pay the 4,000-yen, per-person entry fee. 
※If you decide not to enter the mountain, please complete the refund procedure yourself.
 
⑤Completing advance study
Please study in advance (e-learning) using video or text and take the quiz on Mt. Fuji.  To receive the entry permit, you are required to correctly answer all questions on the Mt. Fuji quiz.
 
⑥Receiving an entry permit
After filling out information on the person using the entry permit, an entry permit (QR code) will be shown.
 
⑦On the day of the climb, show the entry permit on site.
Launch Shizuoka Prefecture's official app and show the entry permit to the on-site staff.
 
⑧When climbing Mt. Fuji, keep the app on for a safe and pleasant climb.
You can confirm your current location using the app's map function.  You can receive push notifications on weather and other information.
