Be careful when taking the wrong trail.
Regarding the different colors of signs on climbing trails
At forks in the road, pay attention to the color of the signs and follow the color of the climbing trail you will be using.
Look at the map and always be aware of your current location while you walk.
- At Mt. Fuji, the signage, design, and colors of the climbing trails are standardized.
■Fujinomiya Trail ■Gotemba Trail ■Subashiri Trail ■Yoshida
- Each of the four climbing trails has a designated color on its signposts, so be sure to remember the color of the route you will be using and take care not to mistakenly take the wrong route at junctions and other points.

The entire junction of the Yoshida Trail and the Subashiri Trail

The Yoshida Trail proceeds past Edoya (Shita-Edoya) to the left of the central signpost. The Subashiri Trail descends to the right.
★1. Signpost just before Edoya (Shita-Edoya)

The building in the background of the photo is Edoya (Shita-Edoya).
★2. A junction sign standing next to Edoya (Shita-Edoya)

The Yoshida Trail proceeds to the left from this sign, passing in front of Edoya (Shita-Edoya).
★3. Fork in the road sign located beyond Edoya (Shita-Edoya)

After passing Edoya (Shita-Edoya), the path splits into two; take the right-hand path. From here, you will be on the Yoshida Traildescending Trail.
★4. A junction sign (Subashiri trail) located 100m below Edoya (Shita-Edoya)

If you take the right fork just before Edoya (Shita-Edoya), you'll end up on the Subashiri Trail, but there's a sign about 100m downhill. If you climb back up to the left (Subashiri Trail) from this sign, you can rejoin the descending trail of the Yoshida Trail. If you pass this sign, you won't be able to return to the Yoshida Trail without climbing back up.
