[Shizuoka Prefecture Route (Fujinomiya, Gotemba, Subashiri)] Restrictions on climbing Mt. Fuji (2026)

In fiscal year 2026, climbing restrictions will be implemented to preserve the World Heritage site Mt. Fuji and ensure the safety of climbers. This year, the opening date for the Subashiri Trail, which merges with the Yoshida Trail, will be set for July 1st, in line with Yamanashi Prefecture, and climbing restrictions will be implemented from that date.

In addition, to ensure a smooth entry into the mountain area, we have started accepting pre-registrations via the official app "Shizuoka Prefecture FUJI NAVI" from May 8th.

Overview of Mountain Climbing Restrictions

[Implementation Period (Mountain Opening Period)]
○Subashiri trail: July 1st to September 10th (unified with Yoshida Trail)
○Fujinomiya Trail/Gotemba Trail: July 10th to September 10th
*The opening date may be delayed depending on the snow removal situation just before the opening.

[Content of restrictions]
By ordinance, the following conditions are required for those entering the mountain from the 5th station.
○ Pre-climbing training on rules and manners related to the conservation and safe climbing of Mt. Fuji
○Entry into the mountains between 2 PM and 3 AM the following day requires overnight stay at a mountain hut.
○Payment of Hiking Fee (4,000 yen per person, one time only)

[Mountain entry procedures]
Use the "Shizuoka Prefecture FUJI NAVI" app (on-site registration also available).
*Wristbands will be distributed to those who complete the procedure.

[Main function]
- Pre-learning of rules and manners (e-learning)
 - A confirmation test will be administered after the pre-learning period.
- Registration of climber information
- Payment of hiking fee and issuance of mountain entry pass (QR code)
• Push notifications for weather information, etc.
- Safe mountain climbing support utilizing map functions (NEW)
 - Detailed information about mountain huts, etc., and display of current altitude.
 - Function to search for travel time from current location to destination
Supports 7 languages
 - Japanese / English / Korean / Chinese (Traditional & Simplified) / Thai / Vietnamese / Indonesian

Those who pre-register using the "Shizuoka Prefecture FUJI NAVI" app will receive a commemorative gift (a pin badge) at each trailhead. Obtain your mountain entry permit through the app for a safe and smooth climb!
