Subashiri Trail: Model Plan

Model plan

This model plan assumes you stay overnight at a mountain hut at an altitude of around 3000m and hike at a standard course time.

When you actually go hiking, please make an appropriate hiking plan, taking into account the location of the mountain hut you have booked and your own walking pace.

premise

  • For the "The Sunrise" mountaintop route, the distance from the hut to the summit is calculated based on past patrol records, taking into account the congestion caused by "The Sunrise" mountaintop routes.
  • A 10-minute break every hour.
  • Lunch and other meals are 30 minutes long.
  • Acclimatize for 1 hour at the 5th station, or acclimatize for 30 minutes at the 5th station and then spend the remaining 30 minutes at the 6th station or elsewhere, eating while acclimatizing.
  • Assuming the procedures at the trailhead take 30 minutes.
  • Plan based on sunrise and sunset times around August 10th.
    • [7/1] Sunrise 4:21 Sunset 19:16
    • [7/10] Sunrise 4:26 Sunset 19:15
    • [8/10] Sunrise 4:49 Sunset 18:52

Caution:

Climbing Mt. Fuji without staying in a mountain hut is extremely dangerous unless you have sufficient mountaineering experience, physical fitness, and technical skills.
In particular, "bullet climbing" (*1) and day hikes with light equipment (*2) are extremely dangerous.
Please include sufficient time and physical fitness in your climbing plan. Ensure you are properly equipped and in good physical condition before attempting to climb Mt. Fuji.

(*1) Bullet climb: A climbing style in which you depart from the 5th station at night and aim to reach the summit by sunrise without staying overnight in a mountain hut.
(*2) Lightweight hiking: A hiking style that does not involve carrying necessary equipment.
