Yoshida Trail mountain hut

Points to note when using mountain huts on Mt. Fuji

  • This is a simple lodging place for taking a short nap, with only the bare minimum of facilities. Please do not have excessive expectations.
  • Mountain huts on Mt. Fuji are located at the 5th station and above along each route. Choose a hut that suits your fitness level and choose to spend the night there.
  • As a general rule, we are open during the period when the trail is open.
  • Guests can order simple meals for dinner or breakfast.
  • Some mountain huts are closed to visitors arriving at night, so be sure to check their operating hours beforehand.
  • Water is scarce on Mt. Fuji, so there is no running water for washing faces or hands. There are also no baths. Furthermore, there are no water sources, so you cannot replenish your water supply at mountain huts. However, you can purchase bottled water for drinking.
*Water and food are transported from the foot of the mountain using a crawler vehicle. Therefore, it is more expensive than at the foot of the mountain or 5th station.
*Please be sure to take everything you bring with you back with you. Garbage generated by guests must be transported by crawler to the 5th station for disposal, which incurs significant costs.
  • It is often crowded on weekends, holidays, and during the Obon period, and it may be difficult to find accommodation, so please make a reservation in advance. (Yoshida Trail operates on a reservation-only basis on weekends.)
  • Almost all mountain lodges offer mixed-gender rooms.
  • All toilets at the mountain huts on Mt. Fuji are environmentally friendly, but since the waste disposal methods differ, be sure to check the usage instructions and precautions before using them.
*For example, if you use sawdust for disposal, you cannot dispose of paper. There are also types where you pour water on the toilet after use.
  • You cannot use the mountain lodge just to shelter from rain or take a rest in stormy weather.
  • Payment methods vary depending on the lodge, ranging from credit card payments when booking in advance to cash payments on-site.
  • Some mountain lodges post updates on their blogs during their operating hours, sharing information about the conditions at Mt. Fuji and other relevant details. These updates, including information on crowd levels and weather, can be very helpful.

Yoshida Trail mountain hut

  • You can also stay overnight at the shop in the Fuji-Subaru Line 5th Station.
  • There are mountain huts at the Yoshida Trail 5th and 6th stations, as well as at the summit.
*Yoshida Trail 5th station and 6th station refer to the 5th and 6th stations of the Yoshida Trail, and are different from the Fuji-Subaru Line 5th Station. The Yoshida Trail is a trail that starts from Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine located in the city of Fujiyoshida, and joins the Yoshida Trail at the 6th station.
  • The mountain huts on the Yoshida Trail and at the Yoshida Trail 5th and 6th stations belong to the Yoshida Trail Inn Association. You can check the contact information for each mountain hut, as well as their reservation status, on the Yoshida Trail Mountain Climbing Association website.
  • Please refer to the map below to see the locations of the mountain huts along the Yoshida Trail.
