
2023 Climbing Season (5th station to the summit)
Climbing Season for 2023 is over. All trails from 5th station to the summit are closed.( Except between 5th Station to 6th Station of Fujinomiya Trail) Also all huts, toilets and first aid station have been closed and most of signs on the trails have been removed.
The opening and closing times vary from trail to trail!!
The open/close times may change subject to weather and trail conditions. Please check the latest information.

Mt. Fuji Climbing Season
The climbing season for Mt. Fuji is from early July to early September.
In other periods and during the snow season, climbing Mt. Fuji is prohibited.
- Climbing Mt. Fuji is only permitted during the period in which trails are open in the summer.
- In any period other than the climbing season, trails and huts are closed, and it is very dangerous to climb the mountain during the period.
Opening and Closing of Trails
- The opening time of trails is announced, on the first day of July or later depending on their condition.
- Trails are closed in early September every year. The time of closure depends on the conditions of trails and the weather.
- When trails are closed, be aware that every trail will be impassable from the 5th station up.
- The opening and closing times vary from trail to trail.
Emergency Closure
Even during the opening period, trails may be closed when there is a risk of landslide, rock fall due to bad weather.
