Yoshida Trail departs from the Fuji-Subaru Line 5th Station and joins the ascending trails of Yoshida Trail Ent. at the 6th Station. This is a trail to head to the summit from the north side of Mt. Fuji on the Yamanashi Prefecture side.
Features of Yoshida Trail
- The ascending Trail and descending Trail are separated.
- There are many mountain lodges on the ascending trail, but few on the descending trail.
- More than half of the climbers use the Yoshida Trail.
Ascending

from Subaru Line 5th Sta. to 6th Sta.
- At Izumigataki, the road branches off to the Yoshidaguchi 5th station.
- Beyond Izumigataki, the trail becomes a little steeper and you will walk through a forest area. Once you pass through the shelter, you will see the Mt. Fuji Safety Guidance Center and arrive at the 6th station.
- At the 6th station, it merges with the Yoshidaguchi trail from Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine.

from 6th Sta. to 7th Sta.
- From the 6th station onwards, you will need climbing equipment. From here, there is no shade, so be careful not to get heatstroke.
- A wide zigzag road continues for a while until you reach the first mountain hut at the 7th station.
- From the first mountain hut, "Hanagoya", there is a steep rocky climb.
- There is a "7th station first aid station" below "Kamaiwakan" hut.
- The last mountain hut at the 7th station is "Toyokan".

from 7th Sta. to Hon 8th Sta. (Original 8th Sta.)
- The rocky area becomes even steeper and continues until the 8th station, "Houraikan" hut.
- During busy times, traffic jams begin with night climbers aiming to see the sunrise at the summit.
- The 8th Station First Aid Station is attached to the 8th Station "Taishikan" hut. The altitude in this area exceeds 3,000m, and many people suffer from altitude sickness, so be careful.
- It merges with the Subashiri trail at the Hon-8th station.

from Hon 8th Sta. (Original 8th Sta.) to Summit (In front of Kusushi Shrine)
- The area above the Hon-8th station is the precincts of "Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Okumiya" shrine.
- After passing the last mountain hut, "Goraikokan", the next stop is the torii gate at the 9th station.
- After passing through "Mukae-Kusushi Shrine" in 9th station, passing through the last torii gate, you will arrive at the top of the mountain in front of "Kusushi Shrine".
- The straight section before the last torii gate is narrower. Please pass carefully and do not push each other.

from Summit to 8th Sta. Shita-Edoya
There are no mountain huts after "Shita-Edoya" hut, and there are no public toilets until the 7th station. Before you start descending, use the restroom and make sure you have enough water for the descent!
July 1 - 10 (Until the opening time on the Shizuoka side)
- The section from the summit to the 8th station follows the trail you came up on, and from the 8th station you go to the descending trail down. be careful.
- Descend from the dedicated descent trail between the summit toilet and Mt. Jojudake.
- On the way from the Hon-8th station to Shita-Edoya of the 8th station, there are parts where the road surface can be very slippery depending on the condition and there is a high risk of falling. Be careful.
- This descent route is the same as the Subashiri trail down to the 8th station. At "Shita-Edoya" hut, the 8th station, the Yoshida trail branches to the left. Mistakes are occurring frequently. be careful.
from 8th Sta. to 7th Sta. (Public toilets)
- The wide zigzag road continues endlessly. This road is also used by bulldozers to supply the mountain huts.
- There are several access roads that connect to the ascending trail down to "Taishikan" hut at the 8th station. It can be used in emergencies such as first aid stations.
- There is an emergency evacuation shelter halfway to the public toilets at the 7th station. (There are no toilets in the shelter)
- During the busy season, there is a line at the public toilets at the 7th station. There is also a temporary toilets at the 6th station.

from 7th Sta. (Public toilets) to 6th Sta.
- After descending the zigzag trail for a while, the trail eventually flattens out and returns to the junction with the ascending trail.
- From the fork in the trail, it's the same way you came.
- At the 6th station, the trail splits into the Subaru Line road and the Yoshidaguchi trail that goes down to Kitaguchi Hongu Sengen Shrine. For those returning to the Subaru Line, turn left at the fork and pass in front of the Safety Guidance Center.
- If you have the energy, try going down from the 6th station to the Yoshidaguchi 5th station. From the 6th station onwards, the trail descends through a forest belt. Along the way, there are historical assets such as Mt. Kyogadake, so you can enjoy a slightly different view of Mt. Fuji.
Be careful of the junction with the Subashiri Trail!
About 1000 people go down the Subashiri Trail by mistake every season. If you go down the Subashiri Trail by mistake, you cannot get back onto the Yoshida Trail. Also please note that there is no direct bus from the Subashiri Trail 5th Station to the Fuji-Subaru Line 5th Station. If you go down to the Subashiri Trail 5th Station by mistake, you will have to take a bus or a taxi to get back to the Yoshida Trail. The ascending Trail and descending Trail are separated.

Yoshida Trail (beneath) 1st sta.- 5th sta. (Yamanashi Pref.)
This is an old ascending trail to the summit starting from Kitaguchi-hongu Fuji Sengenjinja in Fujiyoshida City. Believers of Mt. Fuji worship called Fujiko, who flourished in the Edo period, used this trail to ascend the mountain. Now most climbers ascend from the Fuji-Subaru Line 5th Station, but if you take the ascending trail from Yoshida Trail Ent., you can enjoy Mt. Fuji’s history and nature at the foot as well as experiencing the traditional ascending style as it has been done since ancient times. At the 6th station, it merges with the Yoshida Trail from the 5th station of the Subaru Line.
Shojiguchi Trail (Yamanashi Pref.)
About 17 km of ascending trail starts from Akaike close to Lake Shojiko, one of the Fuji Five Lakes located at the northern foot of Mt. Fuji and leads to the Fuji-Subaru Line 5th Station. Along the way, the trail passes through the vast forest Aokigahara Jukai formed on the lava that flowed out from the eruption of Mt. Fuji. The entire ascending trail to the 5th Station is in the forest zone. You can see many lateral cones as well as enjoy rich nature unlike other ascending trails, such as lava tree mold wind caves and beech forests. Connects to Yoshida Trail at Subaru Line 5th Station.
